Connector Updates
The connector is updated independently of your server software. You can see the running version for every server in the dashboard and choose whether the plugin only notifies you about updates or downloads them automatically.
Check the running version
Section titled “Check the running version”Open the server’s Overview or Plugins page in the dashboard. Both show the connector version reported by the plugin. You can also run /shardanalytics stats on the server for the local view.
Update manually
Section titled “Update manually”- Download the latest connector build from the server’s Download page.
- Stop the server.
- Replace the old
ShardAnalytics-*.jarinplugins/with the new file. - Start the server.
Do not hot-load the plugin with a plugin manager. Restarting avoids classloader and thread leaks that can make collection unreliable.
Update behaviour
Section titled “Update behaviour”Update handling is part of remote configuration, so you do not edit server files. From the dashboard, set:
| Mode | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Notify only | Default. Administrators are notified when an update is available. |
| Auto-download | The connector downloads the new build; it will replace the jar during next startup. |
| Disabled | No update checks. |
Related settings:
| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Check interval | 5 minutes | How often the connector checks for releases. |
| Notify administrators on join | On | Tell administrators when they join the server. |
| Include changelog | On | Show release notes in the notification. |
Staying current
Section titled “Staying current”Connector releases include new add-on hooks, metric collection, and payload improvements. Running an old connector does not stop collection, but newer dashboard features may depend on newer collection. The dashboard flags servers that fall too far behind.
